Shema of the Seven Directions

Shema of the Seven Directions

Face East (or form a large circle if praying with a group) centered in the Mountain Pose, feet solidly rooted in the Earth, spine straight, shoulders relaxed, head free and extended heavenward.

Shema
Arms open upward in a triangle to receive from above.

Legs open to form a triangle to receive from below.

Center in heart and solar plexus.

Yisra'el
To wrestle with God, slowly grasp the energy from above, forming fists. Bend the knees and earth it with a downward and outward motion, like giving birth.

Adonai (Yah)
Hands on heart.

Eloheynu
Full circle to the right, arms outstretched, palms up.

(God is all-inclusive)

Adonai (Yah)
Hands on heart

Ehad
With arms stretched above head allow them to move in a front facing circle, swooping to the right and down to the ground. As the energy rises up to the left side , allow it to carry you one quarter turn to the right, facing South.

Repeat for each direction, completing in the East.

The other three directions which are occurring simultaneously are above, below, and within.
